Christchurch, New Zealand Inner City Wedding

October 19, 2019

These two love birds flew from Bangkok to Christchurch for their big day which meant all of their planning was done off shore. This wasn’t an issue though, because Becca is the most organised person I have ever met and she had already planned her wedding in her head, she just needed someone to bring it to life. I cyber-introduced her to Lucy from Christchurch Weddings and with the help of the incredible Fallon at The Little Hire Company, magic came to life!

I first met Becca and Mitch over FaceTime and we got along instantly, I heard Becca’s vision for their day as she walked me through every perfect aspect of her plan and boy oh boy, it was epic. It was even more epic when I walked into The Great Hall and saw it all in front of my eyes, the ceremony site looking at the grand Christchurch iconic stain glass window, it sure was something special. Even more special, Mitch’s mum had been instrumental in the restoration of the building after it was badly damaged in the Christchurch Earthquakes.

With an epic love story comes passion, and these two have it in spades for one another. They chose to exchange private vows after the first look even asking both me and the videographer to give them some space (I did secretly photograph from a distance though, because who wouldn’t want a cheeky shot of the private vows!). It was such an honour to be able to capture this epic love they have and the story of their wedding day, I really do feel as though I was a part of something truly special.

KIND WORDS FROM BECCA AND MITCH:

“Hannah – we are just so deliriously happy with this incredible collection of images you’ve made for us. We honestly don’t know how you even got some of these shots, and can only put it down the fact that you can either fly, make yourself invisible, or do ninja cartwheels while our backs are turned. You’ve captured such special moments throughout the day that we didn’t get to see firsthand, and reactions from friends and family that are more precious than rubies. Some of the images of us (especially the cover image) feel like they could have been taken a hundred years ago. You have given us such a priceless gift, and we will be forever grateful that you have shared your talents and creativity with us.”
